Another Interlude

Hey everybody.  My brain is just frozen for lack of topics.  I’m sure there are tons of things TO write about, I just can’t choose a direction.  Part of it is that I had oral surgery about 2 weeks ago along with a dry socket, from which I was recovering.  Piece of cake in all honesty, but didn’t lend much to creativity.  Then I’ve had a bunch of internal things happening which I wouldn’t **mind** writing about except that without an extensive knowledge of my system’s history, wouldn’t make sense to any of you.  A lot of shifts have been taking place – some big, some small.  Then this week I was sick for a couple days.  SO…my writing voice is tapped out right now.  But once again, I have for your entertainment, a video.  You are likely to have already seen it at some point, so if you have, feel free to skip it or view it once more.  As much as the powerful imagery in this video, I also really appreciate the song and its lyrics and the emotions it evokes.  Be sure to pay attention to what the singer is saying.  You have a voice.  Your voice is needed in the world.

Edit:  The name of the song (also noted in the comments of the video) is “Read All About It (Pt. III)” – by Emeli Sande.  The lyrics cannot be over complimented, especially as it pertains to trauma survivors, though I don’t know whether that has anything to do with the song.

Let this be my message to you today. “Read All About It” lyrics:

You’ve got the words to change a nation
But you’re biting your tongue
You’ve spent a life time stuck in silence
Afraid you’ll say something wrong
If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?

So come on, come on
Come on, come on

You’ve got a heart as loud as lions
So why let your voice be tamed?
Maybe we’re a little different
There’s no need to be ashamed
You’ve got the light to fight the shadows
So stop hiding it away

Come on, come on

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream ’til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I’m not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh

At night we’re waking up the neighbours
While we sing away the blues
Making sure that we’re remembered, yeah
Cause we all matter too
If the truth has been forbidden
Then we’re breaking all the rules

So come on, come on
Come on, come on,

Let’s get the TV and the radio
To play our tune again
It’s ’bout time we got some airplay of our version of events
There’s no need to be afraid
I will sing with you my friend

Come on, come on

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream ’til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I’m not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh

Yeah, we’re all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
Now we’re finally finding our voices
So take a chance, come help me sing this
Yeah, we’re all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
And now we’re finally finding our voices
Just take a chance, come help me sing this

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream ’til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I’m not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream ’til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
I’m not afraid
They can read all about it
Read all about it, oh
