Just wanted to put in another plug for Dear Little Ones. It is a book I wrote to help young alters understand Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Here are some things you might like to know about the book:
- It is very safe and gentle.
- It is not oriented toward any specific healing path, although it does assume some type of outside help is needed in the interim, to help the system learn to work together.
- It is neither pro- nor anti- integration.
- It’s not a Christian book. I tried to make it relevant to as many multiples as possible.
- I’d love for you to check it out!!
Here is a recent review if you want to see what someone else thinks about it who has read it.
If you want to purchase it, you can buy it here.
It is also on Amazon (available to most other countries except for China and Japan!) and Kindle, though I don’t love the Kindle formatting.
Also, can you do me a favor? If you’ve read it, or want to read it, and you know anyone else that might benefit from it – including your therapist, mental health worker, doctor, or anyone else serving a support role in your life – will you please let them know about it? I don’t really have a marketing plan, but I really believe this little book could be helpful to a lot of people. I’d really like those people to be able to know about it.
I also have a different book out called Pieces of Me, which is not a kids’ book. It’s just a weird, oddball conglomeration of art, poetry, essays, etc about some of my struggle and recovery journey. There are some Christian themes in this book because it’s more personal. Currently I have a couple bigger names in the Christian writing genre considering it for a review. (Though there are no guarantees.) I was just surprised to get any kind of response at all. I might also be guest posting for some of them, so I’ll give you more details if and when that happens. 🙂 For the most part, it’s not so much the name-dropping that I care about. I care about the fact that I never thought while I was growing up that anything in my head was worth giving a shit about. It’s always pleasantly surprising to find out you might actually matter. 😉
If you’re interested in buying Pieces of Me, you can look for it here. I might re-work it a little if there’s not much interest. I never actually expected to sell any of this one, I was just finishing it as a matter of principle since I’ve had the darn thing for years now, unpublished.
Thank you all for continuing to read and interact! I love being a writer and connecting with people. Cheers. ~J8
